I would like for all the Downeys to send me pictures, dates of importance as well as places, and full names for everyone in thier family, I will not be posting this information on-line, but I will be making genealogy books.  If you have any more information you'd like to share with our family members, please send it to me, and let me know you want if you want it posted.

I am in the process of researching more information on Jessie Downey, Andrew Jackson Downey's sister. She was born Sept. 19, 1914 to Edgar and Mary C. Downey, in Wapello County, Iowa. The last record I have found on her was a 1930 Iowa State Census that has her listed at the age of 16 as a servant for Frank Hofman.

I am also searching for more information on Mary C. (Penn) Downey, wife of Edgar Downey. Her parents were Henry O. Penn and Rebecca (Houston) Penn. I know she was 22 when she married Edgar in 1904 or 1905. But she seemed to disappear after Dorothy Mae Downey was born in 1920, and then reappeared in 1930. According to American Homefindings Association, Dorothy Mae was placed into foster care with Aaron and Caroline Steussy from LuVerne, IA, but was returned to her mother- Mary C. Downey on Christmas Day, 1930. That is the last record I can find on her. I would like to know what was going on during these times, and what happened to her after this point.

Also, Isabelle (Eddy) Downey, 1st wife of William Marion Downey, also referred to as Sarah Isabelle, Bell, and Belle, is also MIA after the birth of Edwin in 1878.
I know William Marion Downey remarried Emma Yoder, and I wonder who is the mother of the other children listed as William Marion Downey's. The children are William Downey, Clarance E. Downey, and Ethel Niece.
(Emma had two children prior to the marriage, listed as Mrs. M.E. Dunham and Orvill Troxell)

Any information is greatly appreciated.
